Caring About Our Employees

Taking good care of employees is a top priority for us at Styland. We have adopted a long-term strategy for taking care of our employees. This includes providing our employees attractive compensation and benefits which are competitive with the market. We believe in higher education and life-long learning. As such, we do our best to provide our employees the opportunity to learn and upgrade their work skills. We care about our employees’ health including their mental, physical, and social well-being. On an on-going basis, we implement programs that are geared towards making a postitive contribution to our employees’ health. Occupational health and safety is a key area of focus for our Group. As a result of these key initiatives, we have been able to maintain a low employee turnover rate.

Occupational Health and Safety

The Group's management believes that healthy employees are key assets for the Group. As such, the Group cares for its employees’ health and safety, including their mental, physical and social well-being.

To keep the indoor air quality at a very high standard, we have our office’s ventilation system cleaned regularly by a professional air-conditioning company.

To create a greener working environment for our employees, we encourage employees to keep potted plants on their desks.

Employee Development

We have implemented our Continued Learning Sponsorship Scheme since FY2011, pursuant to which each employee was entitled to an annual sponsorship of HK$10,000 for his or her continued learning. We believe that through this educational scheme, our employees will be able to gain practical skills and knowledge that can further enhance their job performance. We believe that our businesses will benefit from providing this educational sponsorship scheme to our employees. Based on our previous experience in running this program, we have found that type of program boosts employee morale and productivity.

Employee Social Gatherings

We organize social gatherings for our employees each year to reduce their work-related stress and provide them fun-filled experiences. This includes birthday parties at the office, Christmas parties and Lunar New Year company dinner. Furthermore, to promote harmony among our employees and their family members, we have organized trips for our employees and their family members. The Group believes that social gatherings are important to create and enhance the employees’ sense of belonging to the Group. The Group further believes that via these social gatherings, the employees can achieve a healthy work-life balance.
